This week we’re raising a Toast to some huge news as we welcome Co-op to our revALEution. As of Monday 4th February, you’ll be able to find our delicious Purebread Pale Ale in the craft beer aisle of 57 Co-op Food stores across Greater London. What a perfect way to say goodbye to Dry January!

We’re delighted to be partnering with Co-op, who have built a reputation for ethical retailing. #TheCoopWay encompasses a broad range of initiatives – helping provide clean water to vulnerable communities, minimising environmental impact, educating consumers on health & wellbeing, as well as supporting local communities throughout the supply chain. As part of this commitment, food waste reduction is becoming an increasingly important focus for Co-op – and we’re excited to offer a helping hand.

Co-op’s relationship with FareShare has seen 1,300 tonnes of surplus food redistributed from its depots to those in need, enough to provide over 3,085,000 meals. Co-op’s own redistribution programme, Food Share, has been designed to tackle store-level surplus by redistributing to local community groups. And beyond food redistribution, Co-op have supported WRAP’s Love Food Hate Waste campaign since it started in 2007, providing people with practical steps to minimise food waste at home.

By putting Toast on the shelves, we’re proud to be part of Co-op’s food waste reduction story and to provide London shoppers with a more sustainable craft beer option.

In October last year, we were awarded ‘Best Small Producer‘ at the Quality Drinks Awards. The category, sponsored by Co-op, represented an opportunity for smaller businesses to showcase their product ranges. The rigorous judging process culminated with a pop up style tasting session at Co-op’s HQ, where shortlisted businesses sampled their products with Co-op buyers. We’re delighted to now add our winning Pale Ale to Co-op’s craft beer range, bringing Toast to more communities across Greater London.

Co-op has stores nationwide, so we’ll be working on getting our beer into community stores all over Britain for ethically minded drinkers to enjoy. Watch this space!
