Toast Ale x Stroud Brewery x Friends of the Earth

Here at Toast, we’re passionate about ending food waste to help reduce the huge environmental impacts of food production. We recently won an award for our contribution to Sustainable Development Goal #12 – ‘Responsible Consumption and Production’ – showing that building a more sustainable planet is baked into everything we do.

We’re so proud to announce our latest collaboration with Stroud Brewery and environmental campaigning charity Friends of the Earth, giving us the chance to champion (and drink) solutions for a greener future.

‘Flour Power’ is a 4% organic amber ale, brewed with fresh surplus bread from Hobbs House Bakery and powered by renewable energy to keep the planet that bit cooler. The beer is a modern, heavily hopped amber ale with Citra & Azacca hops for an intense citrusy aroma. This is our second collab with Stroud Brewery, following the release of ‘Melba’, an organic pale ale, last summer.

Organic brewing is Stroud’s speciality. Nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds, all their beers are organic and certified by the Soil Association. As well as avoiding chemical fertilisers and pesticides, they pay careful attention to how their beer is packaged and transported. Like Toast, their focus on sustainability and responsibility has enabled them to become a Certified B Corp. They’re the perfect brewery partner to compliment our own environmental mission.

This collaboration beer is a partnership with Friends of the Earth, as part of their campaign to end climate change. The charity campaigns for a healthier and fairer planet, aiming to provide a bold and fearless voice, fight for widespread transformation and organise and build long-term power. 5% of the revenue will go towards their vital work.

Join us at the ‘Flour Power’ launch party on the 2nd of May at Sustainable Bankside in Southwark. The highlight of the night will be award-winning comedian Rachel Parris. The event will also include talks from Toast and Friends of the Earth, and music from DJ Max Galactic. There will be free food from Too Good to Go and tickets include a free pint of ‘Flour Power’.

Tickets are available here.
